About
At Waihi Funeral Services we believe that it’s just as important to look after the living as it is to look after those that have passed on.
Simon Manukonga was the first person in New Zealand to graduate as both a qualified Funeral Director and an Embalmer and has been in the industry since the 90s. Prior to becoming a Funeral Director, Simon was a Registered Nurse. Simon puts all his effort into caring for people’s loved ones and takes his time to ensure those special memories are preserved. Simon takes such pride in his profession, which is why he places importance on being a member of the Funeral Directors Association New Zealand (FDANZ) and the New Zealand Embalmers Association (NZEA).
Donna Manukonga has always had a passion for caring for people and has dedicated her life to doing just that – first as a Registered Nurse and now as a qualified Counsellor specialising in grief and loss issues. The funeral business runs inDonna’s family. She comes from two generations of funeral directors and her family have owned and operated Taupo Funeral Services since the 1970s.
