As a mother of seven, Carla takes immense pride in the legacy she has created for her own family. This commitment to family values extends into her professional life, where she enjoys the unique opportunity to work alongside her mother, husband, and several of her children. This family-oriented approach enriches the experience we provide, allowing us to connect with families on a deeper level as we guide them through their loved one’s final journey.

Over the years, we have established a legacy of five funeral homes throughout the North Island, complemented by our own crematorium. This infrastructure not only reflects our dedication to serving families but also ensures that your loved one remains in our care throughout their entire journey. Gayle

At the heart of our service is also Gayle, (Carla’s mum) a dedicated Funeral Director whose own encounters with loss have shaped her compassionate approach to helping families during their most challenging times. 

Inspired by her personal experiences, Gayle embarked on a career in funeral directing with a clear mission: to provide families with a standard of service and care that not only meets their needs but also leaves them feeling genuinely supported throughout their journey. She recognises that each family’s experience with grief is unique, and she approaches every situation with empathy and understanding. Gayle’s goal is to guide families through the decision-making process, offering insights and support that can ease the burden during such an emotionally charged time.

As a mother of two daughters and a grandmother to eleven grandchildren, Gayle has cultivated deep connections within her family and community. This close-knit bond fosters a genuine warmth that she brings into her work, making a significant difference for those who are facing the inevitable challenges of saying goodbye to a loved one. Her commitment to providing comfort and care is evident in every interaction, ensuring that families feel valued and understood.

Beyond her professional life, Gayle leads an active lifestyle filled with interests that reflect her vibrant personality. She is passionate about lawn bowls and yachting, holding titles both within New Zealand and on the world stage. As a selector and coach for the New Zealand Commonwealth Lawn Bowls team, she not only excels in her sport but also shares her expertise with others, fostering talent and teamwork among aspiring bowlers.

Gayle embodies a full life—one filled with family, community involvement, and personal passions. She believes in living life to the fullest and embraces each day with enthusiasm, never in a hurry to settle down on the couch.
